A smile is one of the most personal and intimate expressions we possess. With a smile we reach out to strangers or brighten the day of a friend; it is a free and precious gift. At the Dental Studio of Dr. William Nave, we offer a wide range of cosmetic, restorative, and general dental procedures to give you the smile you want, or enhance the one you have.

ZOOM!® Teeth Whitening

One of the most popular cosmetic dentistry procedures, teeth whitening is an easy way to get brilliant teeth worth smiling about. At the Dental Studio, we offer the ZOOM!® Teeth Whitening system. ZOOM!® uses a light-activated, hydrogen-peroxide-based gel to quickly and safely bleach the teeth. When done in-office by our team, this procedure is capable of whitening the teeth by as many as eight shades in only an hour.

Our clients can also choose to use the at-home ZOOM!® Teeth Whitening system, which whitens teeth as many as six shades in just a few days. The at-home system includes a customized bleaching tray and ZOOM!® hydrogen-peroxide gel. To learn more about our teeth whitening services, contact us today.

Porcelain Veneers

Looking to transform your chipped, stained, or crooked teeth? Porcelain veneers are an excellent solution to these common dental concerns. Custom-made to perfectly fit your mouth, veneers are thin layers of a specially patented type of porcelain that are placed over the front surfaces of damaged teeth. Quick and virtually painless, veneers can radically revitalize your smile in as few as two appointments.

Dr. Nave also uses porcelain veneers by da Vinci Veneers™, which have been featured on such popular reality TV shows as "The Swan" and "Extreme Makeover".

Dental Bonding

An alternative to traditional silver fillings, dental bonding uses natural-looking composite resin to cover damaged teeth. When a tooth is damaged by deep stains or decay, dental bonding can give it a fresh start. To find out whether dental bonding is a good option for you, contact Dr. Nave and the Dental Studio Team today.

Inlays and Onlays

Inlays and onlays are two types of indirect fillings. If you have a large area of tooth decay, and not enough tooth structure to support a traditional filling, inlays and onlays may provide an ideal alternative. An inlay is placed inside of the tooth, like a normal filling, and is generally used within the cusps of the tooth.

Onlays are placed on top of the tooth so that they cover one or more of the cusps. Onlays require a much more extensive procedure than inlays, as more outer surface area of the tooth is being covered.

Both inlays and onlays can be constructed of gold, porcelain, or a natural-looking composite resin, and generally improve the strength of the existing tooth. Learn more about inlays and onlays by contacting the Dental Studio of Dr. William Nave.

Crowns

When teeth are so discolored, damaged, and degraded that a traditional filling cannot repair them, crowns can provide a solution. Also known as dental caps, crowns cover the entire decayed tooth starting from the gum line. Before a crown can be put in place, Dr. Nave must resize and reshape the tooth to accommodate the cap. Dental impressions of the teeth and gumline are used to fabricate a crown that not only looks natural in your unique mouth, but feels great as well. Once the crown is made, it is carefully cemented onto the prepared tooth. The resulting tooth is stronger and more attractive than ever before.

Dental Bridges

One way to fill in the gap created by a missing tooth is to build a fixed dental bridge - fusing a false tooth between two porcelain-crowned teeth. In order to attach the crowns, the pre-existing teeth must be reshaped to allow for the additional thickness and height of the crowns. Once the porcelain crowns are in place, the false tooth (or "pontic") is inserted and cemented. Fixed bridges are a very sturdy and long-lasting solution to missing teeth.

Besides traditional fixed dental bridges, there are two other forms of dental bridges available depending upon the needs of the client: cantilever bridges and resin-bonded bridges. For more information on the benefits of dental bridges, and to find out whether they're right for you, schedule a consult with Dr. Nave today.

Cosmetic Dentures

At the Dental Studio, we take a cosmetic approach to the design and fitting of dentures. This means that we don't just create a set of durable dentures for our clients - we combine practical, comfortable hardware with artistic and aesthetic experience. The result is a denture that attractively fits our client's unique facial features. If you have missing or damaged teeth, cosmetic dentures by Dr. Nave might be a perfect way to restore your smile. Technology

At the Dental Studio, we employ the most advanced technology available to maximize the level of your care.

Laser Dentistry

Laser technology has greatly expanded the ability of dentists to detect and correct a wide range of dental problems. It is also used to enhance certain cosmetic procedures. Some lasers can detect cavities that are invisible to the naked eye, while others accelerate the hardening or drying process involved in dental restoration and whitening.

Intra-Oral Camera

Gone are the days when dentists and clients labored over hand-drawn explanations of cavities and gingivitis. By combining the latest in digital imaging and dental care, an intra-oral camera helps clients see for themselves the areas that need special attention. The small, pen-shaped camera is attached to a monitor that displays video and photographic images of the client’s teeth and gums as the dentist gently moves the lens around the mouth.

Electric Handpieces

For decades, dentists have used air turbine handpieces, those loud, hissing tools used to “drill” into tooth tissue. While effective, they are still imperfect, especially with regard to keeping a steady flow of power through the tool. But since the introduction of the latest electrically-powered handpieces, everything has changed. Dentists can now cut and clean the tooth tissue more quickly and quietly than ever before. The new handpieces are also more easily sterilized and controlled.

Digital X-Rays

Better than traditional X-rays, but with significantly less radiation, digital X-rays are among the most impressive recent advancements in medical technology. They eliminate the annoyance of biting down on an uncomfortable piece of film, waiting for it to develop, and then struggling to decipher the images produced. Taking digital X-rays simply requires moving a sensor around the mouth to instantly produce a clear, comprehensible image.

Panoramic X-Rays

While regular dental X-rays are used to inspect the mouth for hidden problems like cavities and wisdom teeth, panoramic X-rays help dentists get the “big picture” when it comes to broader oral health issues. Panoramic X-rays allow the dentist to see a client’s sinuses, nasal area, jaw bones and joints, as well as the teeth. With this type of X-ray, problems like cysts, fractures, or impacted teeth can be detected much more efficiently.
